Museum Studies, also called museology, is an academic field that focuses on the theories and practices for the museum profession, including archives and records management, art galleries, cultural and governmental agencies, educational institutions, historical and heritage societies, media production companies, and preservation and cultural resource management.
This guide is intended to support students pursuing the graduate certificate in Heritage and Museum Practice in the School of Humanities at Penn State Harrisburg as well as the Museum Studies Certificate in the College of Arts and Architecture at Penn State University Park.
