Children's Literature and Literacy Education

Links to databases and resources for award-winning and popular children's/young adult literature. Also helpful for authors studies, language arts, literacy, literary criticism, reading, and related topics.

Children's Literature Search Tips

Use each database's thesaurus or subject headings list to identify the best wording for your topic. For example, ERIC uses:

  • Adolescent Literature (NOT "young adult literature")
  • Childrens Literature, and Picture Books (NOT "children's literature" or "chapter books" or "easy readers")
  • Early Childhood Education, and Preschool Education, as well as Nursery Schools
