Note: Penn State does not have a subscription to the full RefWorks, so some features will not be available to Penn State users. Note that Penn State access does not allow use of RefWorks with Microsoft Word.
To create a new RefWorks account:
- Go to Library Search and click on "RefWorks Log In" in the top right corner. (If you don't see the RefWorks log in link, click the link for Penn State users log in...)
- On the RefWorks login page, click the bottom gray link: "No account? Sign up here"
- On the next page titled "Start using RefWorks" enter your Penn State email and click the "check" box
- You'll see a page with "Complete Sign up" at the top. DO NOT click the blue box for "use login from my institution." Instead enter a password that you create, confirm the password, and click "sign up."
Use RefWorks to:
- easily import citations and articles
- 2GB of storage
- keep your account when you graduate
- share readings and collaborate with up to 10 people
- read, highlight, and annotate documents
- generate bibliographies automatically using APA, MLA and other common citation styles
- cite documents from your library and change citation styles with the touch of a button with the Google Docs add-on.
