The public access policy for NASA is currently in effect:
- Fully covers published outputs
- Fully covers data
- Requires all research proposals to include a Data Management Plan (DMP).
NASA requires its investigators to:
- Submit an electronic version of final peer-reviewed journal manuscripts to the NIH PMC.
- Make research data that underlie the results and findings in peer-reviewed publications or the information on how to access the data publicly available.
NASA allows the inclusion of reasonable costs for data sharing in research proposals or project plan budgets.
