Celebrate spooky season in the makerspace! On Thursday, October 30 from 11am to 3pm, we will provide materials to make Halloween key fab wristlets and fuse bead art as well as snacks. Support to create these creepy crafts will be available every step of the way!
Pins, or buttons, carry a long history as wearable identifiers that allow people to express their devotion to a cause, political stance, band, or brand. During this workshop, we created our own pins, celebrated freedom of expression during Banned Books Week, and learned more about the history of pin-back buttons.
Junk journaling provides an outlet to record your memories, thoughts, ideas, and inspirations in a tangible and tactile way. During this event, we offered journals to store your "junk" for this creative, sustainable, and hands-on event. Common junk journals include ephemera such as receipts, concert tickets, notes, and stickers, but we encouraged participants to bring their own "junk" as well!
In this workshop, we explored all things Cricut, learning how the Cricut works, what materials it uses, and the types of projects you can make with a smart cutter. We also used the Cricut to create customized bags.
If you couldn't join us for this workshop, we will be holding another one in November!
At this event, we made flexagons and color-changing ornaments!
