This guide was created to help students navigate Library tools and services more effectively. This guide contains up-to-date procedures on requesting material, reserving study spaces, and evaluating resources, as well as information about the Coal and Coke Heritage Center.

Ask A Librarian

Students are encouraged to try the Ask A Librarian feature when their campus librarian is unavailable and they have an immediate need or question. Users will be connected with a Penn State Librarian who can help answer questions and guide them to appropriate resources.

Library Open House

Visit the Library to meet the staff, tour the building, and grab a snack! Throughout the event, students will have the opportunity to take part in a scavenger hunt and earn a chance at prizes, create their own Blackout Poetry, learn about Library and Coal & Coke Heritage Center services, and participate in a Technology Petting Zoo. Don’t worry – the virtual reality headsets don’t bite! Visit our Open House website all year long to learn about Library services and events.

Right A Wrong: Japanese Americans and World War II

This exhibit examines the complicated history and impact of Executive Order 9066 that led to the incarceration of Japanese Americans following the attack on Pearl Harbor. Visit the Fayette Campus Library throughout the Fall 2021 semester to experience the exhibit. Righting a Wrong: Japanese Americans and World War II was developed by the National Museum of American History and adapted by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service. The traveling exhibition and poster exhibition are supported by a grant from the Asian Pacific American Initiatives Pool, administered by the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center, the Terasaki Family Foundation, and C. L. Ehn & Ginger Lew..
