PA Public Library Resources
Many public libraries in Pennsylvania (and elsewhere) provide access to additional resources that may be helpful for research nonprofit organizations. These resources include:
- DonorSearch
- Foundation Directory
- GrantSelect
- GuideStar
- ReferenceSolutions (formerly ReferenceUSA; may also appear as Data Axle)
Some libraries may limit access to one or more of these resources to in-library use only, while others may provide remote access to users with a library card. Reach out to your local library for more information.
All PA residents are eligible for a Free Library of Philadelphia library card that grants remote access to GrantSelect and ReferenceSolutions and in-library access to DonorSearch, Foundation Directory, and GuideStar.
All PA residents are also eligible for a Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh library card that grants remote access to ReferenceSolutions and in-library access to Foundation Directory and GuideStar. PA residents living outside of Allegheny County will need to visit an Allegheny County library within 30 days to verify their information.
- Free Library of Philadelphia: Business Resource and Innovation CenterAssist entrepreneurs in the for-profit and nonprofit arenas at every stage, helping to improve their skills through public programs and individualized guidance in research and planning. A FLP library card is free to all Pennsylvania residents.
- Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Nonprofit ResourcesInformation about nonprofit information resources available on-site at CLP locations. All PA residents are eligible for a CLP library card, but those living outside of Allegheny County may need to visit an Allegheny County library to verify their information
- Candid Community PartnersCandid, the organization behind Foundation Directory and GuideStar, offers a searchable map of public libraries and other organizations that offer access to those products. Note that access may be limited to local residents

While IBISWorld doesn't have a specific report for nonprofit organizations, it does have a number of industry reports that include them. Search for nonprofit or enter search terms related to the kind of organization(s) you're researching
