Note: It is not possible for Penn State users to search the Libraries subscription databases, such as PsycInfo, from within the EndNote interface. Instead, you will need to search the databases through their regular interfaces, export your citations/articles to EndNote or .RIS format and then import the file into EndNote.
The steps for importing files that have been exported from databases or other citation tools (such as Mendeley or Zotero)
- In EndNote create a new library, or open an existing one.
- From the EndNote File menu, choose Import.
- Click the Choose File button to locate your saved text file.
- On the Import Option drop-down list, choose “Reference Manager (RIS)."
- Click the Import button.
Importing Files into EndNote Basic:
- Open your EndNote Basic account.
- Under the Collect tab, click Import References.
- Click the Browse button to locate your saved text file.
- From the Import Option drop-down menu select RefMan RIS.
- Click the Import button.
