Woman standing, reading a bookWelcome OLEAD students!  This library guide offers resources and strategies to make research and citation easier in OLEAD classes.  Please select from the menu on the left sidebar.

Most importantly, please feel free to reach out to our librarians anytime you need assistance.  We can help you through a variety of modes--email, phone, chat, zoom--that fit your preferences and schedules.  You can connect with a librarian by clicking the "Ask A Librarian" button on the right side of any library page.  You are also more than welcome to email me, Brett Spencer at dbs21@psu.edu. Best of luck in your research journeys and we look forward to working with you!

Best Wishes,

How to Use This Guide

Search the Penn State Libraries for Books, Articles and More

As Penn State students, you have access to all that the library has to offer whether you are living on campus or around the world. However, we realize that there is a ton of information at your fingertips and it can be hard to know how or what to even search! A great place to start is LionSearch. This is a discovery-based system that searches most of what the library owns. It also offers options for searching beyond Penn State libraries' collections and acquiring these materials using a service known as InterLibrary Loan. LionSearch is a great place to get started when you are conducting research for your courses, however, it searches a rather large pool of information. Sometimes, you will get more relevant results by searching smaller pools of information. That is where the books, journals, and database tabs come in handy.

This video provides an overview as to the basics of LionSearch. Use it as a tool to get a head start on your academic searching!

This video digs a little more into the finer points of LionSearch for any research projects that you might complete.
