The benefits of reading for pleasure
Participants have logged 143 books towards our goal of reading 200 books during Fall 2025!
The goal of Eiche Library's Reading Challenge is to encourage a love of reading among our campus community, and to highlight our leisure or "for fun" reading resources!
The Reading Challenge is open to all PSU Altoona faculty, staff, and students. It doesn't matter what you like to read or how fast you read. If you are already a reader, want to rediscover a love for reading, or just want to try something new... you belong here!
When you sign up for the challenge you will have the option to set up your own personal challenge, in addition to contributing to our overall campus goal of reading 200 books by Monday December 15th, 2025.
Use the form above to sign up for the challenge and set an optional personal goal.
As you finish a book, log it using the Reading Log form to help us reach our challenge. Don't forget to rate and review your book so you can share your recommendation with other readers!
Eiche library will be hosting fun reading events throughout the semester. Information will be shared through social media and on Altoona Connect.
Books -- For the purposes of the challenge a book is a story (fiction or non-fiction) told in a long-form format, but some rules are made to be broken! You can make your own distinctions as long as it is meaningful to you (think a themed issue of a magazine where each article related to one another). Examples may include:
Note: Films, videos, and textbooks do not count towards this challenge.
