This is a guide to resources available on the history of Penn State Wilkes-Barre's campus and Hayfield House, the original campus building.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre History

Penn State Wilkes-Barre started in November 1916 in downtown Wilkes-Barre, PA. The college started off by offering night classes in rented rooms in one of the high schools. Eventually it outgrew this and moved out of Wilkes-Barre to Lehman, PA when Richard Robinson offered them Hayfield House as a permanent home.
