Important Info Before You Start Your Research

  • You will select a publicly traded company and perform research on that company related to course content. 
  • You must have a minimum of 10 credible sources.
  • Company background (industry type, product or services or both, how were they formed, HQ, size, sales, territory, primary objectives)
  • Identify the company’s stakeholders – internal and external (chapter 3)
  • Identify 4 of the 6 general environment forces impacting the company (chapter 3)
  • Triple bottom line – people, planet, profit; sustainability/social responsibility (chapter 3)
  • Mission, vision, and values statements (chapter 5)
  • Organization’s strategy, goals, strategic positioning (chapter 5, 6)
  • SWOT or VRIO analysis (chapter 6)
  • Organizational structure (chapter 8)
  • Organizational chart (chapter 8)
  • Porter’s five competitive forces and four competitive strategies (chapter 6)
