Open Access (OA) and Open Educational Resources (OER) share similar goals: reduced cost to the users and eliminating barriers to using and sharing knowledge.
Open Access scholarly works are easy to read and find for free.
Open Educational Resources are also free and easy to read but they also are directly connected to copyright. OER works have creative commons licenses applied by the owner that allow anyone to retain, reuse, revise, remix, and redistribute them.
