Quoting, Paraphrasing and Summarizing

  • Quoting
    • When you use the author's exact words. Use " " to show that this is a quote. Quote only when necessary.
  • Paraphrasing
    • When you write in your own words what you read.  
  • Summarizing
    • Like paraphrasing, but the idea you are writing is general and brief.
