Maps & Geospatial: ArcGIS Online

This guide provides an introduction to using ArcGIS Online. ArcGIS Online enables the creation of web maps, web applications, and geospatial analysis projects to communicate with broad audiences related to spatial topics.

Introduction

This page summarizes publicly accessible data via ArcGIS online. Data and applications are available from ArcGIS Online. These links represent the data layers underlying applications seen on some of the Projects pages on this website, and they represent data sources that are not linked elsehwhere on this site, but are available via ArcGIS Online.

Sanborn Applications and Data Layers

Sanborn fire insurance maps are historic maps with detailed building information. This collection of Sanborn-related datasets were created by Bednar undergraduate internships within the Donald W. Hamer Center for Maps and Geospatial Information.  These Sanborn data layers and applications primarily cover central Pennsylvania; however, a few select other areas have also been created based on student interests.

When opening the details of the webmap and/or the web application, this indicates the layers are present within the map and/or application. Click the layer name for more details on a specific layer.
