Online Writing Lab (OWL) Resources

The Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University is not just for citation help! The OWL also has many resources that can assist you in improving your business writing. Some topics on business writing in the OWL, include the following:

Getting Writing Help

The Shenango Academic Resource Center (SHARC) offers writing assistance to students, including tutors that are available to work with you on all stages of the writing process, including brainstorming, outlining, and revising. Tutors will also assist you in proofreading your final draft and make suggestions on improving your writing. The SHARC is located in room 103 of the Lartz Memorial Library and can be reached at 724-983-2910.

The SHARC is now using Starfish to schedule tutoring appointments. Most in-person tutoring is in the SHARC, 103 Lartz Library. Online and Zoom tutoring is available for some subjects. According to demand, tutors may be requested in subjects not listed.

  1. Visit starfish.psu.edu to schedule your appointment
  2. For Writing Tutoring and other General Subjects, scroll down to the bottom of your homepage and click "Schedule"
  3. For tutoring in a specific class, click on the menu icon ("hamburger") in the top-left corner of the homepage and choose "Courses" from the menu. If there is a blue icon next to your course, tutoring is available. Click on "Schedule" to make your appointment.
