The Office of the Vice Provost for Educational Equity serves as a catalyst and advocate for Penn State's diversity and inclusion initiatives. Educational Equity's vision is a Penn State community that is an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.

The Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (CSGD) provides a comprehensive range of education, information, and advocacy services to students, faculty, staff, and alumni. We work to create and maintain an open, safer, and inclusive environment honoring gender and sexual diversity. Through educational, social, and supportive programming, along with workshops and individual consultation, the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity strives to serve the entire Penn State community.

The Paul Robeson Cultural Center provides programs and support services to encourage and cultivate the appreciation and celebration of the diverse perspectives, experiences, and cultures of many under-represented communities at Penn State.

The Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) provides individual college counseling and educational services for undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds at University Park and assists students in meeting the challenges associated with education and attaining a degree at a major research institution.

Penn State’s Gender Equity Center supports students who have been impacted by sexual violence, relationship violence, stalking, harassment, and other campus climate issues. In addition, the office works to educate the campus community about Gender Equity issues and to provide workshops and resources for the prevention of sexual violence.

The Center for Engineering Outreach and Inclusion (CEOI) assists all students in the pursuit of their undergraduate and graduate degrees. Founded to serve students from groups underrepresented in engineering, the center has grown to assist all students, faculty, and staff in the College with their engagement in equity and inclusion through evidence-based best practices and programs. Our support system of faculty and staff encourages current students to become allies and leaders in advancing equity and inclusion.

The Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP) strives to foster a welcoming environment that celebrates culture and inclusion. It is our mission to improve the recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups who are pursuing a degree in engineering. We aim to do this through developing students both academically and professionally and through engagement in impactful leadership opportunities.

The Penn State Women in Engineering (WEP) mission is to recruit students into engineering, retain undergraduate engineers and facilitate academic success, catalyze career development of engineers through advocacy and action, and actively promote an equitable and productive academic environment in the College of Engineering.

Penn State is a global university educating students from around the world. The mission of the Penn State International Engineering Programs (IEP) is to further connections between Penn State domestic students and Penn State students from abroad, so both can create and benefit from meaningful interactions.

In the Penn State College of Engineering, we understand that the best engineering emerges when our researchers can bring their whole selves to the team. The College of Engineering is proud to provide the Rainbow Engineering Network (REN) to support that truth. The REN is a sibling to the Rainbow Science Network, an initiative created by the Eberly College of Science to foster a fully inclusive environment in their research groups. As part of the College of Engineering initiative, prospective research team members at the undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral, and technical levels in the LGBTQ+ community can readily identify research groups where faculty members have received training in LGBTQ+ issues and are committed to fostering a fully inclusive environment.

AISES’ mission is to increase substantially the representation of American Indian and Alaskan Natives in engineering, science, and other related technology disciplines.

The Multicultural Engineering Graduate Association (MEGA) is a student organization that fosters the recruitment and retention of domestic underrepresented graduate students in all STEM fields across the Penn State, University Park campus. Through events, activities, and programs, MEGA aims to strengthen the relationships between graduate faculty and multi-cultural students while providing opportunities for technical, professional, and social improvement.

The mission of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Penn State Chapter, is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.

The Penn State Out In Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (oSTEM) is a professional group for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and allied students.

Phi Sigma Rho (ΦΣΡ) is a national sorority for women in the fields of engineering and science.

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), Penn State Chapter, has helped its members to grow academically, socially, and professionally. We are brought together by heritage, social responsibility, and desire to improve the equality of all people through the use of science and technology.

The Penn State Society of Women Engineers (SWE) chapter was founded in 1975 and today includes over 250 members. The mission of SWE is to “stimulate women to achieve as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity.”
