Teaching Support for Faculty at the Penn State Lehigh Valley Library

Research Consultation

We are available for individualized help with any aspect of the research process. In one-on-one research consultations, librarians can help students:

  • narrow a research topic
  • find better sources, and make research easier and more successful
  • use the databases to find credible and scholarly sources for assignments
  • request books, articles, and more from other campuses and other universities
  • stream videos and music for free through the Libraries
  • cite sources in APA, MLA, Chicago, or any other citation style
  • and more!

Encourage students to contact their liaison librarian to schedule a consultation for quick reference questions or in-depth research needs!

Research Consultation Information for Your Syllabus

As you prepare your course materials, consider including information about how your students can connect with the library. Get library books, articles, and more

  • To get started with research on a topic or to find a particular book or article, try the FIND: Books, Articles, & More search. • To focus your search in a particular subject area, check the Subject Guides for recommended databases and other research resources. >> To get there: from the University Libraries website (https://libraries.psu.edu/), choose Subject Guides under Research Help and Tools or go directly to https://libraries.psu.edu/guides/subject.
