For assignments in this course, you will use APA format.
Below is a citation video and quiz, as well as citation guides from Penn State University Libraries and the Purdue Online Writing Lab (Purdue OWL) which will be helpful in providing examples and guidance for creating your citations.
You can also find the citation manuals in book form at the Library.
NOTE: Many databases will provide pre-formatted citations with articles. It is in your best interest to verify the formatting of these citations before copying and pasting them into your paper. While the information in the citation is generally correct, the formatting will more often than not be somewhat incorrect.
When you cite something, you are participating in a scholarly conversation with other researchers, professors, and students. Proper citations help those who read your work learn more about your topic, since they allow them to find and read the articles you explored while writing your paper. Citations also help protect intellectual property -- you don't want others taking credit for your brilliant ideas!
