Published daily or weekly, newspapers tell you about the history and current activities in a community.  

There is no database or web site that includes every newspaper. To find a newspaper for your town, Google the name of your town and "newspaper." Once you find a newspaper, look for search box, or a link to "archives." Then, search for keywords such as "environment," "groundwater," "sinkholes," etc.
