Post-Election 2016 Recap & Resources

After a difficult and contentious 2016 election, this guide creates a supportive virtual space to explore, learn, and discuss ideas brought up in the election and the ideas we grapple with after.

November 8, 2016

For many of this, November 8th might be a day we remember for a long time. We turned out to the polls and stayed up late, constantly refreshing our social media feeds trying to see who would be elected. This page (and the following one in this group) are dedicated to: Election Recap. Brush up on your knowledge of the Electoral College, see what voter turnout was actually like, our reactions as the results rolled in, and how we as a country (and university) responded to Donald Trump's victory.

Victory and Concession Speeches

"To all Republicans, and Democrats, and Independents across this nation, I say it's time for us to come together as one, united people...I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be President for all Americans" - Donald Trump

"Our constitutional democracy demands our participation, not just every four years but all the time. So let's do all we to keep advancing the causes and values we all hold dear...Our responsibility as citizens is to keep doing our part to build that better, stronger, fairer America we seek. And I know you will." - Hillary Clinton
