Online Students Use of the Library

This guide is intended for students who are using the library online to help guide the experience and make the library website easier to understand and use!

Writing Resources

Writing is a very important part of the research process. However, librarians do not typically help with writing structure or fixing grammar in your papers. The purpose of this page is to give you the resources you will need to help you in the writing process.

As a Penn State World Campus student, you have access to tutoring services from tutor.com and Penn State Learning. This guide from World Campus can explain to you what services are available to help you in your writing.

In addition to these resources that you receive as part of being a Penn State student, there are a lot of tools online that can provide a basic editing service to improve your grammar and sentence structure. My favorite tool is Grammarly and I think you will like it as well. There is a free version of Grammarly of if you choose you can upgrade to be able to use the plug-in in tools like Word and Box. Just don't expect Grammarly to do all of the work for you - it functions it much the same way as an editor - as an additional resource for you to use to improve your writing.
