Whenever you use sources such as books, journals, or Web sites in your research papers you must give credit to the original author by properly citing the sources. Citations also help your reader find the sources again. There are a number of different citation styles, depending on the discipline in which you are working. The following links provide guidelines to using a variety of citation styles.
Use these quick guides for examples of how to cite common types of sources in APA, MLA, CSE, and Chicago styles.
Tutoring will be available both on-line and in person. The office for The Center for Student Achievement will be open for students Tuesdays through Thursdays. Tutoring will begin September 7 unless otherwise requested by a student. If you would like to request tutoring between August 24 and September 4, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
For in-person and on-line tutoring, please send any screen shots, papers or other materials you are requesting help with, in advance of your appointment. Please send it to: email@example.com, along with your name, your tutor's name, and the date of your appointment.
All writing consultations will be conducted online. You can schedule an appointment with a writing consultant to discuss any part of the writing process or use our Online Writing Lab (coming soon) to deposit a paper for a forth coming appointment.
We can help you with any stage of the writing process from deciding on a topic to proofreading a "finished" paper for purposes of reaching clarity. A writing consultation is very much a conversation between you and your consultant. We will ask you to communicate the ideas you wish to convey and will help you determine if the paper you are writing adequately addresses the assignment.
