Additive Manufacturing

Resources to support the study of additive manufacturing (3d printing) in the areas of design, materials, industrial and mechanical engineering.

Introduction to additive manufacturing (3D printing)

Additive Manufacturing, sometimes known as 3D printing, uses specialized processes and software to create parts in a layer by layer deposit of various materials.  Plastics like ABS, PLA, and PVA or metals from aluminum to titanium are layered to form the finished product.  Industrial and commercial applications are of primary focus, but personal and artistic printing is also relevant to this field.
