a guide to resources for researching the United States Constitution.

September 17

the first page of the U.S. Constitution

On September 17th each year Penn State holds a number of programs related to the U.S. Constitution. This website is part of that programing effort. Elsewhere on campus you will see other activities including "writer's blocks" and twitter feeds where you can post your thoughts on the importance of the Constitution to American society.

Constitution Day is a federally-mandated activity for all educational institutions receiving federal funding:

"The Assistant Deputy Secretary for Innovation and Improvement announces that, pursuant to legislation passed by Congress, educational institutions receiving Federal funding are required to hold an educational program pertaining to the United States Constitution on September 17 of each year. This notice implements this provision as it applies to educational institutions receiving Federal funding from the Department."
