How to Find Primary Research Articles

Recommended Search Strategies

Go to the advanced search screen in PsycINFO and use the recommended search strategies below.
For each search, limit to peer-reviewed and limit by date to after 2009.

Children of war (type as is and leave drop down menu at Anywhere)
Cyberbullying (limit to Subject in the drop down menu)
Adolescent eating disorders (limit to Subject in the drop down menu)
Widowhood (use widows instead of widowhood and limit to Subject in the drop down menu)
Sandwich generation (type as is and leave drop down menu at Anywhere)
Elder abuse (put "elder abuse" in quotes and limit to Subject in the drop down menu)

What is a Primary Research Article?

A primary research article is a journal article in which the author/s have conducted a research experiment of their own, they are not reporting on research done by others or giving their opinion or arguing for a particular policy.
