Citing Your Sources

The objective in citing your sources is to lead the next person to the same information you found. Make sure your citation contains everything you would need to backtrack and find the information again.

Article Comparison assignments must follow the Journal of Animal Science style:

This is the style outlined in your assignment. Browse down to the "Literature Cited" section to see how to cite your references
NLM Journal Abbreviations
Look for journal abbreviations here. Type in the full name of the journal in-between quote marks, and put [Journal] at the end.
Example:
"journal of animal science"[Journal]
Abbreviations will be in the NLM Title Abbreviation field.

The Legislative Letter and Issue Paper assignments may use APA or MLA format, or the above Journal of Animal Science format, or the Council of Scientific Editors (Citation sequence) format:
