Resources to support 3d printing, or additive manufacturing, at Penn State

Introduction to 3D printing at Penn State

3D printing, or additive manufacturing, is a method of creating 3-dimensional objects from a digital model by depositing successive layers of material.  There are also methods of "subtractive" manufacturing that cut or shape larger raw materials into the desired shape.  Designs can be created in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, through 3D scanning, or transforming 2D images into 3D.
